St. Benedict famously wrote in his Holy Rule that the devout cenobites "are not given to ready laughter for it is written, 'Only fools raise their voices in laughter' (Sirach 21:23)."  But does this mean that humor is verboten in the spiritual life?  Hardly!  In this section of the blog, I report on the lighter side of true devotion.
